A Delhi Court on Sunday remanded two men, namely Md Aslam and Md Ansar, alleged to be the primary accused, to one day police custody in connection with the clashes that broke out yesterday evening in city's Jahangirpuri area during a Hanuman Jayanti procession.

Duty Magistrate Divya Malhotra also sent other twelve accused persons to 14 days judicial custody in the matter.

The Delhi Police had arrested Zahid, Ansar, Shahjad, Muktyaar Ali, Mohd. Ali, Amir, Akshar, Noor Alam, Mohd. Aslam, Zakir, Akram, Imtiyaz, Md. Ali and Ahir.

The FIR has been registered under sec. 147, 148, 149, 186, 353, 332, 323, 427, 436, 307 ,120B of the Indian Penal Code and sec. 27 of the Arms Act.

While the accused persons were produced before the Court today, the Police said that they have to go through the CCTV footages and identify other persons involved in the matter.

According to the Police, a pistol was received by them from Mohd. Aslam which was allegedly used during the incident.

The Police has also said that during the clashes between the two communities, there was stone pelting and arson, injuring various persons including eight police personnel.
