The Himachal Pradesh High Court has resolved to refer to all the Courts in the State other than the High Court as "District Judiciary".

The Circular issued in this regard clarifies that these Courts shall not be referred to as Subordinate Courts.

"Furthermore, these Courts shall not be referred to as Subordinate Courts. They shall hereinafter be referred to as "Trial Court"

Moreover, the nomenclature of Judicial Magistrate (1st Class), which is referred to as "JMIC", shall hereinafter be referred to as "JMFC".
