A Varanasi court earlier this month issued a notice in a revision plea seeking the registration of criminal cases against Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi for allegedly making controversial remarks in relation to the Gyanvapi Mosque-Kashi Vishwanath Temple Dispute.
Last month, a plea filed by Advocate Hari Shankar Pandey was dismissed by the court noting that no cognizable offence was shown to have been committed by Yadav and Owaisi. Against that very order, a revision plea has been moved before the Court of Additional District judge Anuradha Kushwaha.
It may be noted that in his plea, the revisionist has sought registration of an FIR/case against Yadav and Owaisi for allegedly inciting religious hatred by making 'controversial' remarks regarding the structure found inside the Gyanvapi Mosque premises (alleged 'Shiva Linga').
It is his case that SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Owaisi, his brother, and many others were making objectionable remarks against the 'Shiva linga' which resulted in hurting the sentiments of Hindus.
