The Gujarat State Legal Service Authority, in collaboration with Gender Resource Centre, Government of Gujarat, has launched a year-long gender sensitisation campaign titled "एहसास न्याय का सब के लिए" - "Ehsaas Nyay Ka Sab Ke Liye" during a seminar held at the Gujarat High Court Auditorium.
The event was presided over by the Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal, who emphasised the need for in-depth sensitisation training for all stakeholders to create gender-neutral workplaces.
As part of the campaign, Chief Justice Agarwal also inaugurated the official website for the Internal Complaints Committee.
Dr. Bhavna Mehta, the Dean of the Social Science at MS University Vadodara, delivered a presentation addressing the gender stereotypes. Various panelists representing different stakeholders namely, Judges, lawyers, employees and officers expressed their views and thoughts.
The seminar also saw the participation of the Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat.
The seminar was attended by all the Judges of the High Court, the Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, several lawyers, and more than 600 High Court employees.
This large-scale gender sensitisation campaign was the first of its kind in the country, and was lauded by all the stakeholders with a positive and inclusive approach aimed at fostering equality in the workplace.
