The Gujarat Government today notified the premature retirement of two judicial officers of the state in the public interest as per the recommendations made by the Gujarat High Court. A press release to this effect was released by the Registrar General of the High Court.

In the last two months, (8 July-8 September), in total, 8 Judicial officers have been prematurely retired.

The following two officers have prematurely retired today under the provision of Rule 21 of Gujarat State Judicial Service Rules, 2005 considering their overall service record:

1. Shailesh Pravinkumar Bhatt, Additional District Judge, Radhanpur, District Patan

2. Khumansinh Natvarsinh Meghat, Judge,- Family Court, Ahmedabad

The Gujarat High Court had recommended the Government of Gujarat to retire prematurely above said two Judicial Officers by giving three months' pay and allowances in lieu of notice.

Pursuant to that, the Government of Gujarat today issued a notification dated 8th September 2022 thereby prematurely retiring the aforesaid two Judicial Officers.

It may be noted that six Judicial Officers also had been prematurely retired vide Notification dtd. 8th July, 2022 and Notification dtd. 4th August, 2022, respectively in the public interest by the Government of Gujarat on the recommendation of the Hon'ble High Court of Gujarat.
