Senior Advocate and former Advocate General of Kerala K.P. Dandapani passed away on Tuesday.
He served as the Advocate General of Kerala from 2011 to 2016, during the tenure of the UDF Government.
An alumnus of St. Albert's College and Government Law College, Ernakulam, the senior lawyer had enrolled as an Advocate and joined the Bar in the year 1968.
He had been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Kerala High Court in 1996. He was thereafter transferred to the Gujarat High Court five months after his appointment, upon which he resigned as judge.
Subsequently, he became designated as the Senior Advocate by the Kerala High Court, along with his wife and one of the only two female Senior Advocates in Kerala, Sumathi Dandapani.
The former Advocate General had been the Standing Counsel for several establishments and institutions including the Power Grid Corporation of India, Greater Cochin Development Authority, National Institute of Technology Calicut, and others.
