The High Court of Madhya Pradesh has issued a circular wherein all the Hon'ble Judges, as well as all officials and employees, have decided to contribute to PM CARES in wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

"Our country and the world as a whole are passing through unprecedented times due to COVID-19 pandemic. The coronavirus is posing severe health and economic problems for our country and the number of persons infected with Coronavirus is increasing day by day".

Accordingly, in order to deal with any kind of distress or emergency situation, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh has contributed Rs. 50,000/- and all Judges of the High Court of MP have decided to donate Rs. 25,000/- to PM CARES.

All Registry Officers/officials and employees of the HC of MP, Main Registry at Jabalpur and Bench Registries at Indore and Gwalior, and Judicial Officers including Judicial Officers on deputation and employees of subordinate judiciary of the State of MP have also decided to contribute as follows:

1. All District Judges/ADJs: Rs. 15,000/- each.

2. All CJM and Civil Judges: Rs. 10,000/- each.

3. All Non-Judicial Officers: Rs. 10,000/- each.

4. Class I and II: Rs. 10,000/- each.

5. All Class III employees: Rs. 5,000/- each.

The amount is to be deducted from the salary for the month of April 2020.

It is to be noted that the contribution will be done on a voluntary basis and that those officers/officials/employees who do not wish to contribute, may intimate their name, designation and employee code through call/SMS by 15th of April to officials as mentioned in the Circular.

Additionally, non-receipt of SMS/call shall be taken as their consent to donate and the contribution will be exempted under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
