He concludes his address by saying, “I will always be proud to be called as Former judge the of Best High Court of India, unarguably the Delhi High Court.”

He continues by saying that he wants to clear the air before he leaves. “At 12:30am I sat with Justice Bhambani on instructions of Justice Sistani who asked me to hear the matter. Next day, we took the PIL in court. That remained in CJ board so some confusion was created.”

Justice Muralidhar brings up the controversy surrounding his transfer. He states that the collegium letter had been issued on 17th Feb. I had clarified to the Collegium that there was no objection.”

Justice Muralidhar refers to his judgment in Section 377 case. “Everyday as a judge never seems enough. On 2.7.2009, Justice Shah and I delivered judgement on Section 377. Many broke down infront of us here. That day we knew justice happened.”

Justice Muralidhar makes some suggestions, “Paperless court is an integral feature. Younger, vibrant and most diverse bar is this. There is much scope for enhancing transparency to access to justice. Use of multimedia is an effective way of teaching. I encourage panel counsel of legal aid; we must work in that direction. “

He states that an attempt needs to be made to achieve equality applying by Constitution mortality. “Maintaining calm case after case throughout the day is truly challenging. Someone asked me that after 14 years things must be clear in black and white for all cases; I disagreed.”

Justice Muralidhar continues, “It is important to imbibe Constitutional values. They need to be practiced continuously at personal and professional level both. Court spaces must be democratic. Gandhi's principle for weakest & Ambedkar's principle for Constitutional morality are my principles.”

While referring to the junior Bar, Justice Muralidhar says that the future of the Bar is secure under them. “Diversity in the Bar binds all of us. Caste, community, class factor was not allowed to alter this. “

“ I’m thanking my staff, every employee of this court. I thank DHCBA for accepting me. I find it hard to describe the affection I have received over these 14 years. I can’t thank you enough.”

“On the day of my transfer, our pet labrador breathed her last. In the late hours of the day. She was also a part of my journey.”
