The Bombay High Court on Monday asked the Police not to arrest celebrity Rakhi Sawant till Tuesday in a case filed by another model.
Sawant has approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail. According to the prosecution, Rakhi Sawant showed some videos of the complainant which are sexually explicit in nature to the media.
Justice M. S. Karnik posted the matter for tomorrow after being informed that the investigating officer was not present in the court today.
The court also asked Sawant's lawyer to inform it whether Sawant deleted any alleged defamatory videos before handing over her phone for investigation.
Sawant was booked under sections 354(A) (sexual harassment), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC as well as section 67(A) (Punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act) of the IT Act.
The sessions court on January 18 had rejected Sawant’s anticipatory bail application observing that no case for anticipatory bail was made out.
