The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the date for mandatory electronic filing of non-preferential Certificates of Origin (CoO) through a common digital platform to August 1, 2022.
"The transition period for mandatory filing of applications for Non- Preferential Certificate of Origin through the e-CoO Platform has been further extended till 01st August 2022," the trade notice read.
While exporters and NP CoO Issuing Agencies will be able to use the internet system, it will not be necessary until August 1, 2022. It is permissible to use current methods for processing non-preferential CoO applications in manual or paper mode. For assistance with registration and online application submission, the Help Manual and FAQs may be found on the landing page at https://coo.dgft.gov.in.
All stakeholders should be aware that issuing agencies who do not use the Online System to issue non-preferential CoOs after August 1, 2022 may face penalties and may be "de-listed" as an approved agency. As a result, authorised agencies must educate the exporting community and their constituents about the online system and its registration requirements as soon as possible. Any problems with the IT system or its implementation should be reported to us so that we can take immediate action.
