Delhi High Court has directed the State to file a status report within one week in a bail application filed by Shahrukh Pathan.
Shahrukh Pathan was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police for allegedly pointing a pistol at a policeman and opening fire during the Delhi Riots. He's currently in the judicial custody.
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police is conducting investigation against him for offences under sections 186/307/353 of the IPC, and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
The Single Bench of Justice Prateek Jalan will next take up the matter on May 06.
Mr Asghar Khan, who appeared for Pathan, informed the court that he's seeking interim bail to take care of his father who is to undergo a knee surgery.
The State is asked to file a status report on the contention raised by the applicant and answer as to the grounds raised by him are imminent so as to warrant release on interim bail
