The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice on the plea filed by complainant challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Lok Janshakti Party MP Prince Paswan in connection with a criminal case concerning allegations of rape against him.
Prince is a Member of Parliament from Samastipur in Bihar.
Justice Yogesh Khanna sought response of Prince Paswan while posting the matter for further hearing on February 17.
Special Judge Vikas Dhull of the Rouse Avenue Court had last month granted anticipatory bail to Paswan.
The complaint was submitted by the woman, claiming to be a former party worker, in Parliament Street police station in May this year on which directions were later issued by a Court for registering the FIR.
Reportedly, Prince's counsel had, in the trial court, claimed that the complainant and her friend have been extorting money from him since last year and that Prince was innocent.
Prince also took to Twitter, claiming that the allegations are an attempt to pressurize him personally and professionally. According to the complaint, the woman was molested by Prince in 2020, when she was unconscious.
