Delhi High Court judge, Justice Prathiba M Singh on Thursday heard cases while standing in the courtroom.
While Justice Singh did as usual hear some cases while sitting on the chair, she started hearing the cases in standing position around 12:30 PM till lunch break.
As the lawyers present in the courtroom stood up in respect of the judge, Justice Singh asked the lawyers to sit.
She said that it is tough to hear cases while sitting for long hours and doing it that while standing is "more comfortable".
During the post lunch session, Justice Singh again conducted hearings in the same manner from around 3:30 PM till 4:22 PM.
The judge also used a slightly elevated computer desk to enable her to conduct hearings while standing.
A total of 49 cases were listed before Justice Singh today.
