The Delhi High Court has prima facie opined that merely thirty minutes of child visitation rights in a month granted to a parent is insufficient.

A Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Jasmeet Singh observed,

"The grievance of the appellant father is that the Family Court has granted only 30 minutes audio-visual access to the appellant per month in respect of the two twin children who are now aged two and a half years each, which is wholly insufficient. Prima facie, we agree with this grievance of the appellant."

The development comes in an appeal filed by one Samrat Singh Rawat, appearing in person. He was aggrieved by the Family Court order as aforesaid.

He stated that he has twin children, a boy and a girl. However, the Family Court has granted only 30 minutes audio-visual visitation in a month.

Agreeing with the submission that the time allotted for visitation by the Family Court is meagre, the High Court issued notice to the Respondent, Poonam Rawat, mother of the children.

The matter is now listed on January 11.
