The Delhi High Court has decided to continue with the current mode of restricted functioning in light of the extension of the nationwide lockdown.

As per the decision taken by the Administrative and Supervision Committee of the Delhi High Court, the restrictive functioning of the courts subordinate to the High Court will also be extended till July 15.

It has also been ordered that all the benches in the High Court shall also endeavour to take up 20 oldest 'Regular/final category matters' pending on their respective boards through video conferencing mode.

The Government of India, has extended the lockdown till June 30, however, considerable relaxations are being provided in the areas outside the containment zones.

As per the office order released by the Registrar General of the court, the services of the Delhi High Court will remain suspended till July 15 on similar terms which are in operation right now.

The order has, however, clarified that the court will continue to hear urgent matters through video conferencing.

All the pending matters listed before this Court (including the courts of Registrars and Joint Registrars) during the period from 15.06.2020 to 30.06.2020 would stand adjourned to August.

In addition to this, the functioning of the subordinate courts have also been suspended till July 15.

These District and Sessions Courts will continue to function restrictively as per the existing guidelines.
