The Delhi High Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a batch of petitions seeking proper investigation into the Delhi Riots, after directing the parties to complete the supply of documents on each other.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told a division bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan that a common reply has been filed in all the petitions seeking registration of FIRs and independent inquiry into the riots

Jamiat Ulama, one of the petitioners, submitted that, they have not received the common reply filed by the Delhi Police. On this , SG Tushar Mehta assured Jaimat Ulama that Delhi Police's common reply will be sent to them within an hour.

The Court asked all the parties to address the issue of supply of replies seriously so that the matter can be soon heard on merits

'This matter should start someday', the court observed.

The Court also informed all the parties that no more time will be given to them for seeking replies.

'Please raise your demand for replies now. This matter has to start someday', the court said. The court will next take up this matter on July 27.

Jaimat Ulama submitted that it supported the fact finding report of the Delhi Minorities Commission, and wanted to place the same on record.

The SG submitted that the parties should stick to the materials already on record.

'We would like to file a reply in case Delhi Minorities Commission report is filed before the court', SG submitted

Jamiat Ulama also submitted that the preservation of video footage of the riots, as directed in the first hearing of this matter, has still not been implemented by the Delhi Police and that it has not submitted its response on the preservation of video footage pertaining to the riots.

This submission was denied by the SG.

The Delhi police has filed an affidavit in the matter, stating that no evidence has been found against politicians such as Kapil Mishra, Anurag Thakur, Parvesh Verma etc to link them to riots.
