A Delhi Court will be pronouncing the order on the anticipatory bail plea moved by Lok Janshakti Party MP Prince Paswan in connection with a criminal case concerning allegations of rape against him on Saturday.

Special Judge Vikas Dhull of the Rouse Avenue Court reserved the order on Friday after hearing Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa along with Advocate Nitesh Rana appearing on behalf of Prince Paswan whereas Public Prosecutor Manish Rawat appearing on behalf of the State.

The development came after Special Judge MK Nagpal recused from passing order on the anticipatory bail plea.

Prince is a Member of Parliament from Samastipur in Bihar.

The FIR was lodged by Delhi Police against Prince under Sections 376 (rape), 376(2) (rape by public servant), 506 (criminal intimidation), 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC, pursuant to Court's directions dated September 9.

The complaint was submitted by the woman, claiming to be a former party worker, in Parliament Street police station in May this year on which directions were later issued by a Court for registering the FIR.

Reportedly, Prince's counsel had claimed that the complainant and her friend have been extorting money from him since last year and that Prince was innocent.

Prince also took to Twitter, claiming that the allegations are an attempt to pressurize him personally and professionally. According to the complaint, the woman was molested by Prince in 2020, when she was unconscious.
