In the wake of COVID 19 pandemic, prohibitory order under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure will be imposed in Delhi by the Delhi Commissioner of Police with effect from 9 PM, March 22 till midnight of March 31.The Delhi Metro has been closed till March 31 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.As per the order :Assembly of any kind for demonstrations, processions, protests etc...

In the wake of COVID 19 pandemic, prohibitory order under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure will be imposed in Delhi by the Delhi Commissioner of Police with effect from 9 PM, March 22 till midnight of March 31.

The Delhi Metro has been closed till March 31 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

As per the order :

  1. Assembly of any kind for demonstrations, processions, protests etc is prohibted.
  2. Any gathering social/cultural/political/religious/academics/sports/seminar/conference is prohibited
  3. Organization of weekly markets (except for vegetables, fruits and essential commodities), concerts, exhibitions etc is prohibited.
  4. Guided tours conducted by various private tour operators are prohibited.
  5. Any individual supsected/confirmed with COVID-19 shall take measures for prevention/treatment i.e home quarantine/institution quarantine/isolation or any such person shall cooperate to render assistance or comply with directions of the surveillance personnel.
  6. Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.


The Government of India today directed the lockdown of 75 districts in various states, where COVID 19 cases have been reported.
