COVID- Rajasthan HC, Subordinate Courts To Function Through Virtual Mode For 2 More Weeks, Interim Orders & Limitation Period Extended

In view of the order of the Rajasthan Government restricting various activities including the closure of work places, commercial establishments and markets from May 4 to May 17, and considering the persisting extreme grave situation, the Rajasthan High Court on Sunday (May 2) notified that Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur and Jaipur Bench would continue to function from May 4 to May 17 in virtual mode.
Similarly, the Subordinate Courts/Special Courts/Tribunals in the State of Rajasthan would also continue to function from May 4 to May 17 in virtual mode.
Importantly, all interim orders expiring between May 4 to May 17 shall remain extended till the next date [High Court and Subordinate Courts/Special Courts/Tribunals].
Personal presence of accused persons before the High Court in Appeals/Revisions shall stand exempted till May 17.
As per directions of Hon'ble Supreme Court issued vide order dated April 27 passed in In RE COGNIZANCE FOR EXTENSION OF limitation, the period of limitation for all judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings has been extended till further orders [High Court and Subordinate Courts/Special Courts/Tribunals].
Significantly, this order of the Rajasthan High Court needs to be understood in continuation of the Court's April 19 (Monday) order.
