In light of various measures being taken to contain the spread of the pandemic of Covid-19 o novel Coronavirus, Justice AK Menon of the Bombay High Court has issued a notice informing advocates that out of the two hours that High Court benches are now working every day, mentioning of very urgent matters will be taken up via video conferencing for one hour every day starting today.

The notice states-

"Advocates and parties in person may mention urgent matters through the unit installed in Court Room No.16-B or they may join the VC (Video Conferencing) Room remotely from their office or home using the link and PIN to be shared with them on the e-mail ID provided by them.

In order to join the V. C. room, Advocates or parties in person should install "Vidyo" software on their Computer or Smartphone. The link will automatically download software for installation on their Computer."

Acting Chief Justice BP Dharmadhikari issued various directions through a notification dated March 14 restricting the functioning of all benches of the High Court and High Court of Bombay at Goa to 2 hours.

A couple of days back, it was reported that in a move to combat the spread of Covid-19, the Supreme Court's e-committee will be introducing facilities like court proceedings through video conferencing, e-filing etc.
