In a bid to combat the spread of Novel COVID-19, the Patna High Court has restricted its functioning to hear only urgent matters. Only urgent matters, by order of the Motion Bench, will be listed before the respective Benches, a notice issued by the HC Registrar stated.

The high court has decided that all matters, except Bail matters (regular/anticipatory), listed in tomorrow's cause list, i.e. cause list dated March 16, will stand over for April 6, 2020. Further, the number of bail matters (regular/anticipatory) listed before the respective Benches in tomorrow's cause list will be restricted to first 25 cases only.

From Tuesday onwards, the cause list will be published only for Regular bail matters and those matters which are urgent. In temporary supersession of all the previous notices regarding mentioning of urgent matters, the high court has decided that till March 31, 2020, all urgent matters will be mentioned orally before DB-I at 10:30 AM.

All matters in which there is an earlier judicial order for listing in between March 17 and March 31, will now be listed on April 4, 2020, before appropriate Benches.
