Pursuant to a meeting held on February 19, the Supreme Court Collegium has proposed to elevate Ahanthem Bimol Singh, Advocate as a Judge of the Manipur High Court and Satya Gopal Chattopadhyay, Judicial Officer, as Judge of the Tripura High Court.

If the two recommendations are cleared by the Centre, both the high courts will function at their maximum sanctioned working strength of 5 and 4 judges, respectively.

The Collegium has also recommended elevation of three Judicial Officers as Judges of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court. They are:

  1. Vinod Chatterji Koul
  2. Sanjay Dhar
  3. Shri Puneet Gupta
