Chief Justice of India, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud on Tuesday inaugurated the new 'S Block' building of the Delhi High Court.

The inauguration ceremony, which was held in the auditorium of new building, was also attended by Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Supreme Court judge Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul.

Justices Hima Kohli, B.R. Gavai, A.S. Oka and Vikram Nath of the Supreme Court also attended the event. The judges of the Delhi High Court were also present.

The new S block building will be housing Delhi International Arbitration Centre, a Judicial Convention Centre, a 285-seater auditorium, 200 lawyers chambers, a lawyers cafeteria and administrative offices. It also has a parking facility across 3 basements.

The PwD team and the architect Goonmeet S Chauhan was guided by the High Court's Building Maintenance and Construction Committee headed by Justice Manmohan. Other members of the committee include Justices Rajiv Shakdher, Dinesh Kumar Sharma and Jasmeet Singh.
