The Central Government has notified the transfer of Justice Ananta Manohar Badar, presently a Judge of the Bombay High Court, as a Judge of the Kerala High Court.
The same is pursuant to the Supreme Court Collegium's recommendation dated April 27, 2020.
Justice Badar enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1985, after obtaining his degree in law from University College of Law, Nagpur.
He practiced at Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court on civil, writ and criminal sides. He served as a Standing Counsel for Nagpur Improvement Trust, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited and Western Coal Fields Limited.
In 1991, he was appointed as the Honorary Assistant Government Pleader and thereafter as Assistant Government Pleader in February, 1992 and as an Additional Public Prosecutor in October, 1994, in the Nagpur Bench.
Justice Badar joined the Maharashtra Judicial Service and was recruited as a District Judge in November, 2000. He worked as an Additional District & Sessions Judge at Akola and Wardha; Member, Industrial Tribunal at Nagpur and Principal District and Sessions Judge at Pune. He also worked in the Registry of Bombay High Court as Registrar (Vigilance).
He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court on March 3, 2014 and was made permanent in March, 2016.
