The Central government has notified the transfer of Justice Arvind Singh Chandel, Judge Chhattisgarh High Court to the Patna High Court.
"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Shri Justice Arvind Singh Chandel, Judge, Chhattisgarh High Court, to be a Judge of the Panta High Court and to direct him to assume charge of his office in the Patna High Court" the notification reads.
Born at Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) on September 1, 1963, Justice Chandel took BA Degree from Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and LL.B. Degree from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh).
He joined as a Civil Judge Class-II at Civil Court, Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh) on August 26, 1987. Thereafter, he served in the subordinate judiciary on various posts at various places of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
He also served as the Presiding Officer of the State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Raipur, and thereafter as the District and Sessions Judge, Kawardha.
He went on to serve as the Additional Registrar (Administration), the Registrar (Vigilance), and the Registrar (Inspection & Inquiry) of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.
He served as the Registrar General of the High Court of Chhattisgarh before his elevation as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh on June 27, 2017. Took oath as Permanent Judge on 02 September 2019.
