The Central government has notified the appointment of Vikram Chauhan as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court. The appointment has been made pursuant to a Supreme Court Collegium recommendation after a meeting held on August 24 this year.The Collegium had recommended the names of 12 other lawyers along with Chauhan for elevation as High Court judges, out of which 9 are now cleared....

The Central government has notified the appointment of Vikram Chauhan as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court. The appointment has been made pursuant to a Supreme Court Collegium recommendation after a meeting held on August 24 this year.

The Collegium had recommended the names of 12 other lawyers along with Chauhan for elevation as High Court judges, out of which 9 are now cleared. The Collegium had also recently recommended the names of three judicial officers for elevation as High Court judges. 

"In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President, is pleased to appoint Shri Vikram D Chauhan, to be an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court, for a period of two years, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office", the notification issued by the Law Ministry stated.
