The President of India has notified the appointment of  Advocates C.P. Mohammed Nias and Viju Abraham as Additional Judges of High Court of Kerala for two years with effect from the date they assume charge.

The Kerala High Court Collegium's recommendation for the elevation of Viju Abraham and six other Advocates was first considered by the Supreme Court Collegium on 9 October 2018.

Viju Abraham's case was, however, deferred for consideration on a later date. His case was again deferred by the Collegium on February 12, 2019 as the Collegium had called for certain information from the High Court. Following the receipt of this information, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Abraham's appointment in May 2019.

The High Court collegium had recommended the names of CP Mohammed Nias, Paul K.K, and CS Dias on April 12, 2018.

Their names were approved by the Supreme Court Collegium in March 2019. Out of those recommendations, the Centre notified the appointment of CS Dias as Kerala High Court judge in November 2019.

In March 2021, the Supreme Court collegium had reiterated its recommendations of Advocates Viju Abraham, Mohammed Nias C.P., and Paul KK for elevation to the Kerala High Court,
