The Centre has issued notification appointing Justice Sabina, senior-most Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court. The above appointment has been made in consequence of the retirement of Justice Mohammad Rafiq, Chief Justice, Himachal Pradesh High Court. 

This appointment has been made with effect from 25.05.2022 

The notification issued by Ministry of Law and Justice read as follows:

"In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Smt. Justice Sabina, senior-most Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court, with effect from 25.05.2022 consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Mohammad Rafiq, Chief Justice, Himachal Pradesh High Court."
