The CBSE Class 10 Board Exams, slated to start from May 4, have been cancelled, and Class 12 Exams have been postponed, in view of the COVID-19 second wave.

Results of Class 10th will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board.

"Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams," the Ministry of Education said on Wednesday in a press release.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had held a meeting with education minister, important officials on Wednesday noon to discuss issue of CBSE board exam.

As regards Class XII exams, which were scheduled from May 4 to June 14, the Board will take a decision based on a review of the situation after June 1. The Ministry said that the Board will give at least 15 days notice before the start of the exams.
