The Calcutta High Court vide a press release informed on Wednesday that all district courts in the State of West Bengal will resume functioning with immediate effect in a hybrid mode i.e. both through physical as well as virtual hearings as per the convenience of the concerned litigants and lawyers. 

"Physical presence of learned lawyers, their staff and litigants in the court premises shall only be permitted on production of double vaccination certificate or RTPCR negative report obtained not prior to 72 hours of court visit in physical or in electronic form", the press release stated. 

Furthermore, it was stipulated that Covid-19 protocol such as wearing of masks inside the court premises, limited gathering in courtrooms, maintenance of physical distancing and usage of hand sanitizers has to be observed at all times.
