Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has moved the Delhi High Court seeking to quash the Air India disinvestment process.
The plea is likely to be heard tomorrow by a division bench comprising of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh.
Swamy has also sought a direction to set aside and revoke any action, decision or grant of any further approvals or permissions by the concerned authorities as regards to the said Disinvestment process.
The plea also seeks investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the role and functioning of the concerned authorities and also seeks a detail report in the process.
After Tata group had emerged as the winning bidder for Air India, the government in October last year signed the share purchase agreement with Tata Sons for the sale of the airline for Rs. 18,000 crore.
In November last year, the Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal had reportedly said all efforts were being by the Government for completing the disinvestment process of Air India by the end of December, 2021.
