A city court in Bengaluru on Wednesday remanded Janata Dal (S) MLC Suraj Revanna, to judicial custody till July 18.

Revanna has been arrested in connection with a case of alleged sexual abuse of a man and charged under sections Sections 377 (unnatural offences), 342 (illegal detention), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

The 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate will on July 4 hear the bail application filed by him

Suraj Revanna is the elder brother of Prajwal Revanna who has been accused in multiple sexual assault cases himself. He is also the elder son of political supremo HD Revanna.

On June 22, a youth filed a complaint with Holenarasipur Rural Police alleging sexual harassment by Suraj Revanna. He alleged that Suraj had sexually assaulted him and one H.L. Shivakumar had threatened him with murder if he complained to the police about the harassment.

Following this, an FIR was registered against the accused. Recently another complaint on similar charges has been registered against Suraj Revanna.
