The Bar Council of India has directed the State Bar Council of Rajasthan to take appropriate measures to ensure that the strike/boycott of several courts in the state due to the murder of an Advocate is called off before March 9.
It asked the State Bar Council to forward a report by evening of March 08.
The strike and boycott of several courts in Rajasthan has been continuing for the last several days due to the brutal murder of an Advocate in broad daylight, the BCI said. BCI has requested the Rajasthan Chief Minister to expedite the matter of passing the proposed Act for the protection of advocates and their families.
In the statement, the BCI said that realizing the need for effective law for the protection of the lives and properties of the advocates and their family members, it had already submitted the Draft of Advocates Protection Law to the Union Ministry Of Law in 2021
The BCI said it will send a reminder requesting the Union Minister of Law and Justice for taking an early decision in this regard.
