The Bar Council of Delhi has decided to issue fresh identity cards to all the lawyers enrolled with the lawyers’ body.

A circular issued by BCD states that it has been decided in the meeting held on April 06 that the new identity cards shall be made afresh and the advocates shall apply with the attested copy of their aadhar card, copy of enrolment certificate and the certificate of practice, where applicable.

“The permanent Identity Card shall be valid for 10 years and provisional identity card shall be valid for two years,” the notice states.

It is further stated that no charge shall be taken from the lawyers for applying afresh for issuance of new identity cards.

“Identity Cards shall be issued free of cost to those who apply within one month i.e. from 01.05.2023 to 31.05.2023,” it states.
