A sessions court in Bengaluru has asked the prosecution to file its statement of objections, by March 24, to the bail application filed by Amulya Leona, who has been booked for sedition for allegedly raising pro-pakistan slogan during a protest held against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

Amulya (19 was arrested by the police on February 20 in respect of an FIR registered for offence under sections 124-A, 153 (A),153-B, 505 (2), of IPC. After being in police custody for five days, \she was remanded to judicial custody and is presently lodged at the Central Prison.

It is alleged that on February 20,in a program organised to protest against CAA, NRC and NPR, where Member Of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi was present, she stated 'Pakistan Zindabad' several times and thereby attempted to bring enmity between different communities. It is further alleged her slogans have affected the unity and integrity of the nation and have instigated people to commit breach of peace.

The bail application says that Amulya is a law abiding citizen who has has been falsely implicated and accused of the offences which she has not committed. A bail application filed earlier before the metropolitan magistrate court, was withdrawn on March 6, after the court said it was not competent to grant bail in a case registered under charges of sedition.

The bail application before the session court says that police have registered the above case without application of a mind resulting in a prosecution of the petitioner on erroneous and non-existent grounds.
