Allahabad HC Notifies Listing Schedule For Minor Bail Applications & Criminal Writ Petitions [Read Order]

By way of an Office order issued by Chief Justice Govind Mathur, it has been notified that bail applications relating to minor offences:

• that were listed on March 18 will be taken up on 7th and 8th April;
• that were listed on March 19 will be taken up on 9th and 10th April;
• that were listed on March 23 will be taken up from 7th April to 10th April.

The matters will be listed before benches of Justice Suneet Kumar, Justice Siddharth, Justice J.J. Munir, Justice Vivek Kumar Singh and Justice Umesh Kumar. Further, the minor bail applications that were listed before the Bench of Justice Rajendra Kumar-1V will be taken up by the Chief Justice Bench, except part heard or tied up or assigned matters.

With respect to writ petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution it has been decided that:

• Criminal writ petitions where a prayer is made for stay of arrest and that were listed for March 18 and 19 will be listed before the bench consisting of Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Samit Gopal;
• Fresh criminal writ petitions where a prayer is made for stay of arrest, which were to be taken up on March 23 will be taken up by the Court from 7th April to 10th April.

The CJ also clarified that the counsels are not required to attend the Court and if required, they may submit their written submission/objections through email.
