The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has resolved that all its Benches shall conduct only physical hearings from February 21, 2022 onwards. It was also specified that alternate forms of hearings such as virtual court proceedings and hybrid hearings would also remain suspended February 21 onwards.

The notification dated February 15, 2022 issued by the Joint Registrar further stipulated, "The Hon'ble Members of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission shall conduct the hearings of the cases from the premises of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission."

It was further directed that a maximum number of 15 cases in the category of final hearing shall be listed before each Bench including the matters nominated to the Bench and the part heard matters before the Bench on a working day.

It may be noted that the NCDRC had previously decided to hear cases through Virtual Mode only from January 4 to January 21 in view of the recent spike in COVID cases in the Country and the consequent restrictions imposed by various governments.
