In view of the recent surge in the COVID-19 cases across India, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has decided to extend the last date of registration for the All India Bar Exam (AIBE) XVI till June 15, 2021.

Significantly, the Bar Council of India had, last month decided to reschedule the date of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE)-XVI and it was notified that the revised date would be intimated soon. It may be noted that the AIBE-XVI was previously going to be held on April 25.

Further, the date for receipt of applications had been extended till April 30, 2020. Now, the date has been extended till June 15.

Significantly, the Bar Council of India had recently decided that All India Bar Examination-XVI (AIBE-XVI) onwards, no books, notes, or study material will be allowed in the Examination Hall. However, the Candidates would be allowed to carry Bare Acts without notes.

A Notification to this effect was made available on AIBE's Website (https://allindiabarexamination.com/).

This Notification stated,

"This is to notify that All India Bar Examination-XVI (AIBE-XVI) onwards, no books, notes, or study material will be allowed in the Examination Hall. Candidates can carry bare acts without notes.

In related news, the Consortium of National Law Universities has extended the last day for submitting online applications for the CLAT 2021 examination to May 15, 2021.
