The Madhya Pradesh High Court has sought information from the State government on an affidavit whether the Bhopal Declaration 2000 is accepted by the government.
According to the PIL the Bhopal Declaration 2000 is a scheme meant to allocate funds to purchase and provide agriculture land to the landless SC/ST families was suspended on July 29, 2005.
The court directed the State to furnish information on two counts -
(1) Whether the Bhopal Declaration 2002 framed by a non-Government Organisation has been accepted by the State Government and if so, the decision of the State Government be produced on record.
(2) If the Bhopal Declaration 2002 has been accepted by the State Government, then the State to disclose the amount spent and the name of the beneficiaries with the details of the land allotted before the same was suspended vide circular dated 29.07.2005.
The PIL is filed by the Bhu Adhikar Abhiyan a Bhopal based social organization that raise voice for execution of Bhopal Declaration 2002.
