The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently made a suggestion to the counsel to do one hour of community service instead of imposing costs while allowing restoration application.
Justice Anand Pathak suggested the counsel for the applicant to invest one hour of community service while visiting Blind's Home (Madhav Andha Ashram, Chandravadni Ka Naka, Gwalior) along with some food items/ snacks and spending one hour with the children, who are differently-abled and are being taken care of by the state government.
“This community service of one hour would not only be satisfying to the soul but would also give a message to the differently-abled children that society and its members care for them and that they are not considered as the children of the Lesser God,” the judge said.
The counsel, who appeared for the applicant, readily accepted the suggestion and undertook to visit the remand home and to carry sufficient food items and spend one-hour time with them.
The court further observed: “Although a visit to the remand home carries pious obligation which need not to be proved through any affidavit and/ or photographs, but possession of intention and manifestation of thoughts through actions are reserved for posterity to guide others to follow suit. “
The court also directed the counsel to submit his experience and tryst with differently-abled children by way of a report.
