The Delhi High Court, on Friday, notified that lawyers and litigants-in-person will now be provided with details of the defects in their filed cases via e-mail, in addition to the SMS alerts which are currently sent out.

The decision, it said, has been taken by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal, on recommendation of the Information Technology Committee.

In order to avail of this facility, the lawyers and litigants-in-person, who haven’t already registered themselves with the e-Filing software, are required to register themselves. The registration is being done at the e-Filing Centre-I, Room No. 4, Ground Floor, Lawyers’ Chambers Block-I, Delhi High Court.

The lawyers and litigants-in-person will have to enter a valid e-mail ID and mobile number into their profiles, in order to get the requisite information via e-mail and SMS.

For registration, the lawyers are required to submit self-attested photo-copy of the registration/ enrolment certificate issued by the concerned Bar Council. The litigants-in-person are required to submit self-attested photo-copy of proof of address and proof of identity.
