About the Seminar:
International law encompasses treaties, customary practices, general principles, and decisions of international courts and tribunals. International law provides a framework for regulating various aspects of international relations, including diplomacy, trade, human rights, armed conflict, environmental protection, and more. Given the dynamic and constantly evolving nature of international law, new issues keep arising and states have to adapt to changing global realities. Its enforcement can sometimes be challenging due to the voluntary nature of many international agreements and the complexities of international relations. International legal developments are often influenced by diplomatic negotiations, state practices, and decisions of international courts and tribunals. International justice mechanisms are important tools for preventing impunity and promoting a culture of accountability and respect for human rights at the global level. However, they also face challenges such as limited jurisdiction, political considerations, and difficulties in enforcement. The potential adverse impacts of these challenges have become the subject of regulatory attention in a number of countries. Commonly, the regulatory response has been focused on the strategies rather than their implementation in the countries. The pursuit of international justice requires the collaboration of states, international organizations, civil society, and legal professionals to achieve its goals.
