The application window for Chevening Scholarships & Fellowships is now open. Chevening is the UK government's flagship global scholarship scheme. Chevening India programme is the largest in the world offering up to 100 fully paid scholarships and fellowships, every year. Currently there are over 3,800 Chevening alumni in India.

Scholarships are given to outstanding Indian graduates for a one-year Master's degree, to study any subject, at any recognised university in the UK.

Fellowships are bespoke courses aimed at mid-to-senior level professionals who are looking to expand their knowledge and expertise in their specific field of work. The programmes are tailored, short courses which usually run for 8-11 weeks at a designated UK University. The programme embraces a multi-disciplinary approach that includes a combination of formal course modules, lectures, group discussions, workshops, mentorship, individual projects, targeted visits and a host of meetings with relevant high-profile companies/organisations and sector experts.

1. Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship 2025-2026 is a tailored programme of leadership development which aims to enrich and transform cultural practice and engagement by developing leadership potential, acumen and skills

2. Chevening Gurukul Fellowship for Leadership and Excellence 2025-2026 is aimed at Indian young high-flyers and mid-career professionals from diverse backgrounds with strong and demonstrable leadership potential

3. Chevening India Cyber Security Fellowship 2025-2026 is aimed at mid-career professionals with demonstrable leadership potential in the field of cyber security or cyber policy in India

4. Chevening Research Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship (CRISP) 2025-2026 is aimed at mid-career professionals with very high potential in the fields of science, innovation, and business from India and Sri Lanka

5. South Asia Journalism Fellowship (SAJP) 2025-2026 is aimed at mid-career journalists from South Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.

Given the range and diversity of the programmes offered, the target group includes professionals in the public, private & government sector, bureaucrats, academicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, members of the civil society, media, and across sectors such as sustainability, climate change, clean energy, financial services, cyber security, technology, AI, innovation, urban development, gender, education, public policy, law, foreign policy, development, international relations, media, conflict, defence studies and more! All programmes are fully funded and there is no age limit. There is a minimum requirement of 2 years of work experience for scholars and 7 years for fellows.
