Vartalap- A discourse On New Criminal Laws At RGNUL

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India is going to conduct 'Vartalap' – a media workshop at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab on August 9, 2024 (Friday) to discuss the new provisions of the new criminal laws. The programme shall be coordinated by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law. The subject experts will share their insights and perspectives on various provisions of Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. The programme is aimed at building public awareness and understanding on government policies and initiatives by engaging with media professionals. An exhibition on the three criminal laws shall also be organised by Central Bureau of Communication on August 9, 2024 at RGNUL on the sidelines of the Workshop.

The programme is expected to be attended by journalists, media professionals, police officers, teachers and students. Under the guidance of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jai Shankar Singh, RGNUL has already introduced new criminal laws in RNGUL scheme of study effective from academic session 2024-25. RGNUL has also taken a lead in integrating Indic Knowledge System into its legal education framework. This includes the introduction of Ancient Jurisprudence, Shaastric Methods of Inquiring into the Truth and Shaastric Methods of Argumentation etc.
