NLU Jodhpur Conducts National Seminar On Constitutionalism In Contemporary Times
The National Seminar on Constitutionalism in Contemporary Times was hosted by the Comparative Constitutional Law & Administrative Law Journal [“CALJ”] and the Constitutional Law Society [“CLS”] of the National Law University, Jodhpur, from September 23-24, 2023. This event promised to be the pinnacle of legal discourse, gathering renowned experts in the field of constitutional law.
The Seminar was inaugurated by Justice J.B. Pardiwala (Judge, Supreme Court of India) and featured addresses by Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur (Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur) and Prof. I.P. Massey (Dean, Faculty of Law at National Law University, Jodhpur).
The University was honoured to have an impressive roster of esteemed speakers, including Prof. Rangin Pallav Tripathy, Prof. Yogesh Pratap Singh, Mr. Arvind Narrain, Dr. Sanjit Kumar Chakraborty, Dr. Raeesa Vakil, Prof. Dipika Jain for 23rd August 2023; and Prof. Neera Chandhoke, Aradhya Sethia, Dr. Shameek Sen, Agnidipto Tarafder for 24th August 2023.
The Valedictory Session was addressed by Dr. S.Y. Quraishi, the 17th Chief Election Commissioner of India who expounded on the value of law students in upholding constitutional values. It also featured addresses by Asst. Prof. Sayantani Bagchi and Prof. I.P. Massey.
The seminar was a huge success as several scholars were able to get meaningful feedback on their research from the esteemed panellists, and it served to offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity for all the attendees to expand their knowledge of the current challenges to and trends in constitutionalism, and engage in meaningful and edifying discussions with the speakers.
