Nirma University Adjudged As Best Team At International Sports Arbitration Moot
The team comprising Priyanka Jaiswal, Rishav Kumar, Vamika Chourasiya and Aditi Sharma representing Nirma University in the International Final rounds of the 2nd edition of Sports Arbitration Moot Court Competition, 2023 held at Madrid, Spain have been adjudged as the WINNERS of the competition.

Qualification in Top 16 teams in the world: 21st March, 2023. (Stood at 7th position).

At the SAM finals, the team Nirma University competed against University of Bergen (UiB) in front of the highly distinguished CAS Panel consisting of the Presiding Arbitrator Ms. Patricia Moyersoen (CAS Counsel, Member UEFA Appeals Body, Founder of Moyersoen Law Offices), and Co-Arbitrators Mr. Ulrich Haas (Professor at the University of Zurich, President of Basketball Arbitration Tribunal and Arbitrator at CAS) and Mr. Jacques Radoux (Référendaire, European Court of Justice and Arbitrator at CAS).
In Semi-finals, the team competed against Master 2 Arbitrage et Commerce International (MACI) in Quarter-finals we went against University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and in Round of Top 16 teams, we faced University of Lisbon.
The moot proposition dealt with some complex and unexplored areas of Sports Law including sporting succession and due diligence of the player. Through the Competition, the team got the incomparable opportunity to present the case in front of several distinguished and experienced professionals in the field of Sports Arbitration. Priyanka and Rishav being the oralists, received affirmative feedbacks on their, knowledge, confidence, mannerisms and persuasion while presenting their arguments.
