HNLU: World IP Day – Curtain Raiser & Inaugural Ceremony Of Centre For Intellectual Property, Innovation And Technology

Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur celebrated the curtain raiser of World Intellectual Property Day falling on 26th April 2022 by a virtual programme on 25th April 2022. The programme also the formal inaugural of the HNLU Centre for Intellectual Property, Innovation and Technology (CIIT) an HNLU Research hub on April 25, 2022 by . Dr. Unnat P Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Design and Trademark as the Chief Guest for the event The virtual inauguration was followed by an interaction titled "IN CONVERSATION' which was hosted under the platform "EX ARCA" (meaning out of the box) series of HNLU.

The HNLU Center for Intellectual Property, Innovation & Technology (CIIT), at HNLU aims to play a pivotal role for capacity building of stakeholders in field of law, management, technology and science and to catalyse the efforts for innovation and monetization to benefit the stakeholders.

Prof. Garima Panwar, a lead IP faculty at HNLU explained the structure and goals of the to develop research, teaching and advocacy in Intellectual Property Rights especially that of the geographical strengths of manufacturing, mining and traditional knowledge for appropriate outcome of policy and practice of IPR. The center will be collaborating and contributing with state and central Governments for appropriate IP dissemination and propagation.

Speaking about the programme Prof. Vivekanand and remarked that "The inaugural of this centre marks the beginning of the a vibrant research clusters of the HNLU Research HUB and presence of the Patent Controller is a great start for roll out of the research centre"

During his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Unnat P Pandit observed that Establishment of CIIT observed " Establishment of this centre is a crucial for the trajectory India is taking in the field of innovation and IPR and the research output of this centre will plauy an important role for policy makers"

The Welcome Address for the program was delivered by Prof. Dr. Uday Shankar, Registrar, HNLU and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Prof. Dr. Vishnu K, Dean PG Studies and Research, HNLU. The programme was anchored by Prof Anita Singh and Prof.Ankit Awasti on behalf of digital@hnlu team.
