MNLU: One-Year Post-Graduate Diploma In Crime Investigation, Medical Jurisprudence, And Forensic Science
Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act 2014 on 20th March 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. It offers graduate, post-graduate, and research degrees in law and allied disciplines. The prime goal of the University is to disseminate advanced legal knowledge and processes of law amongst the students and impart to them the skills of advocacy, legal services, and law reforms and make them aware and capable of utilising these instruments for social transformation and development. Since its inception in 2015, the University has endeavoured to offer academic courses which include B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) five-year integrated programme, one year LL.M. programmes in various disciplines, M.A. Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in numerous disciplines, among others. The Centre for Research in Criminal Justice (CRCJ) at MNLU Mumbai is dedicated to advancing the study and practice of criminal justice. It addresses issues such as criminal law, criminology, penology, and the rights of the accused and victims. The CRCJ conducts extensive research, organizes seminars and workshops, and collaborates with national and international institutions to tackle contemporary challenges in criminal justice.
About The Diploma
With the rapid advancement in Science and Technology, the landscape of crime and the characteristics of criminals have evolved significantly. Technologically driven offenses, transcending borders, now present a formidable challenge to crime investigation protocols. Modern-day criminal activities, encompassing white-collar crime, cross-border infractions, cybercrime, and more, necessitate a wholly scientific and technical approach. To meet this demand, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, judicial officers, and defense attorneys require comprehensive training. With this imperative in mind, the Centre for Research in Criminal Justice at Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, introduces the One-Year Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Crime Investigation, Medical Jurisprudence, and Forensic Science. The aim of the One-Year Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Crime Investigation, Medical Jurisprudence, and Forensic Science program is to equip participantswith the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to effectively address the evolving challenges posed by modern-day crime. Through a comprehensive curriculum, participants will gain a deep understanding of crime investigation techniques, medical jurisprudence principles, and forensic science methodologies.

● Course Duration: One year divided into 02 semesters
● Course Dates: Start: September 2024; End: July 2025.
● Classes: Weekends and Public Holidays only.
● Mode of Classes: Hybrid.
● Exams: On holidays Lecture Recordings: Will be shared with the students.
● Subjects: Sem 1: 03 papers; Sem 2: 03 papers and 01 Research Project.
● Modes of Learning: Mainly lectures and assignments. The Course may feature field visits, seminars, workshops, conferences, and special lectures delivered by industry experts.
● Total Seats: 60; seat allotment is subject to discretion of the University.
● Course Completion Duration: Participants have a maximum of 03 years to complete the course; failure to do so may necessitate re-registration, subject to the university's terms and conditions.

● If completed UG: UG Degree Certificate (or) Provisional Certificate (OR) if still pursuing: Valid ID Card of UG degree.
