Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat, has welcomed Justice Krishna Murari, a distinguished figure in the Indian judiciary.

Retired from the Supreme Court on July 8th, 2023, Justice Murari brings with him a wealth of experience, profound insight, and an unwavering commitment to the cause of justice.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Archana Mishra, expressed her enthusiasm for Justice Murari's appointment, emphasizing the invaluable contribution he is expected to make. His appointment as the Chief Patron of the Centre of Intellectual Property Rights and Innovations signifies a pivotal moment for the University. With a rich legacy of upholding justice and fostering innovation, Justice Murari is poised to leave an indelible mark on legal education and practice. She highlighted his role in shaping the discourse on intellectual property rights and fostering a culture of innovation within the University.

Justice Murari commenced his tenure in the Supreme Court of India on September 23, 2019, where he exemplified principles of justice and fairness throughout his service. He concluded his esteemed journey at the apex court upon retiring on July 8, 2023. Prior to his elevation to the apex court, he held the prestigious position of Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court from June 2, 2018, to September 22, 2019. His stewardship in the Punjab and Haryana High Court further solidified his reputation as a jurist of exceptional caliber. Now, as he embarks on this new chapter in academia, his vision and leadership are set to propel the Centre of Intellectual Property Rights and Innovations to new heights.

Prof. Dr. Ashutosh, the Dean of Academic Affairs & Head of Department, who emphasized these sentiments, underscoring Justice Murari's profound insights into Intellectual Property Law and his commitment to promoting a conducive environment for creativity and innovation. Under Justice Murari's guidance, the Centre of Intellectual Property Rights and Innovations (CIPRI) is poised to become a hub of excellence in the field of Intellectual Property Law.
