Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) will herald new vistas for legal education progress in Chhattisgarh by celebrating the Samvidhāna Divas with the launch of CG-LEARN [The Chhattisgarh Legal Education and Research Network] on November 26th 2024. As part of HNLU's Constitution@75 series, this event will take place from 4 PM to 6:30 PM at the HNLU campus in Nava Raipur.

Mr. Arun Sao, the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Law and Legislative Affairs of Chhattisgarh, will officially inaugurate the CG-LEARN. The launch will be attended by two of the HNLU's Distinguished Jurist Professors, Prof. (Dr.) N.L. Mitra (former Vice Chancellor, NLSIU Bengaluru and NLU Jodhpur) and Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh (former Vice Chancellor, NALSAR & NLU Delhi). They will be chairing thematic sessions along with Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan (Vice Chancellor, HNLU Raipur and President- Consortium of National Law Universities).

The launch of CG-LEARN, a pioneering consortium designed to connect legal institutions across Chhattisgarh will herald a new chapter for legal education in the State. This initiative seeks to build a united framework among law schools and legal departments in public and private universities. The platform will establish interdisciplinary connections with institutions in technology, science, arts, and management, positioning Chhattisgarh as a rapidly emerging hub for knowledge-based initiatives.

Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, has emphasized, “The founding idea behind National Law Universities in the 90's was not just to set new benchmark of excellence but importantly to transfer the best practices of legal education experiments to law institutes out side the NLU space. This avowed goal has eluded in the evolution of NLUs in the last three decades. HNLU intitiative of CG-LEARN is a modest beginning which we hope soon will be emulated by NLUs across the country. Non NLU legal institutions equally have their contributory achievements to be exchanged. We look forward to the Chhatisgarh State Govt and Law Ministry to support this initiative to make the State excel in Legal Education.”

HNLU will be hosting over 100 faculty members, including numerous Deans, Directors, Principals and Heads of Departments specializing in law and social sciences from various institutions. HNLU invites academicians from law and social sciences across Chhattisgarh to attend the event.
